Overview for Transfer Students
Welcome to 91茄子 fam! Congratulations on your choice to transfer to The University of Akron! We’re excited to guide you through next steps of transitioning to be a Zip!
The goal of transfer orientation is to build your knowledge about 91茄子 resources with an efficient online program. You will gain a network of resources and support services, learn more about how 91茄子 can meet your needs as a transfer student, how to schedule classes, and build a stronger connection as an Akron student.

STEP 1
CONFIRM YOUR ENROLLMENT

STEP 2
LOG INTO YOUR APPLICANT PORTAL & CHECK YOUR 91茄子 EMAIL REGULARLY
- Use your email and password to login to your .
- Issues logging in? If you've forgotten your password, just use the "Forgot Your Password?" link to request a new one by email.
- 91茄子 will use your student email address to communicate important information to you, including information about class registration, placement testing, orientation, and welcome events.
STEP 3
RECEIVE NOTIFICATION THAT YOU'VE BEEN ENROLLED IN ONLINE TRANSFER ORIENTATION
- Spring orientation information will be emailed in November and then regularly thereafter.
- Summer/Fall orientation information will be emailed in March and then regularly thereafter.
STEP 4
COMPLETE YOUR ORIENTATION
- Visit your .
- Click the Transfer Orientation tab to get started.
- Complete all the modules. You're finished when you submit the Next Steps survey at the end.
STEP 5
COMPLETE YOUR PLACEMENT TESTS
- You will receive a placement testing email letting you know if you need to complete a math test, reading/writing test, both, or if you do not need to complete any tests.
- Placement tests should be completed at least one week prior to class registration.

STEP 6
COMPLETE YOUR CLASS REGISTRATION WITH YOUR ADVISOR
- Following completion of your Online Transfer Orientation, you will receive communication from your academic advisor through your 91茄子 email to set up your class registration and advising appointment
- It's important to review the new student class registration process before your orientation date.
STEP 7
UPLOAD YOUR ZIP CARD PICTURE
- Zip Card instructions will be sent to your 91茄子 email after you enroll in classes.
- Upload your picture and pick up your Zip Card at any time at the Zip Card Office in Simmons Hall.
- Email zipcard@uakron.edu with any issues.
STEP 8
PARTICIPATE IN NEW ROO REWIND
- Check out all the New Roo Rewind activities available to you as a transfer student at 91茄子.
