Computer Based Testing Information for Faculty
To administer exams for your classes at the computer based testing lab please be sure to contact testing@uakron.edu for instructions to submit test requests, in the new RegisterBlast system.
- Faculty are encouraged to contact staff at testing@uakron.edu (CBT) and cctesting@uakron.edu (CTC) for consultation on new RegisterBlast system placement and course testing.

RegisterBlast
RegisterBlast is the preferred and recommended system for creating new computer based testing exams and is integrated with Brightspace. All test questions, items, and test set ups are managed and maintained by the instructors. Exam settings in RegisterBlast will be set up by instructor, with date, time, attempts, etc.
Specific IP address information will be shared with instructors after requests for testing in CBT are approved. Once faculty has submitted the test via RegisterBlast, the submission must be approved by CBT before the test is available to students.
Summer 2025 Proctoring Instructions
Brightspace Assessments for Fully Online or Hybrid Courses: Instructors of fully online or hybrid courses may configure their exams to give students the option of testing at home using Respondus Monitor or in the SHN 152 proctored lab. Please contact CBT to request testing and staff will follow up with configuration instructions. Note that without special configuration, tests for online and hybrid courses cannot be taken in SHN 152, so please notify CBT as soon as possible at the beginning of each term for setup.
